Matthew Feldman

Designs and makes contemporary furniture.

Matthew Trained as a Classical guitar maker in Whitechapel London 2012. continued making Classical and Flamenco Guitars both in London and NSW .
Finding the "guitar world" too conservative Matthew branched out into photography running a photography business Yellow Eight.
Matthew is interested in making furniture that is original and meets the unique needs of his clients. borrowing the skills learned in instrument making to design furniture that is light on the planet & elegant in form.
I currently work using sustainable sourced timber in Preston.

I’m a third generation woodworker
“This is important to my practice as design in a natural path for me it is part of my family liturgy.”

I draw from many inspirations in my furniture architecture nature music and painting, I also used the skills honed in instrument making extreme attention to detail and form and in photography always trying to achieve visual balance or dissonance if that is what is needed.

I choose my materials like I’m still making guitars using the parts based on their specific strength properties.

I like to use curves, Asymmetry and colour.
